Amazon launches vinyl subscription serviceVinyl Sales Cr Emma Boey

Although streaming services have increased in prominence in recent years, interest in vinyl has slowly and steadily resurged, with sales hitting record highs in 2020. Vinyl subscriptions have been a key catalyst of the format’s upward trend, and now, Amazon is recognizing the demand for vinyl, joining the ranks of Vinyl Me Please to offer its own vinyl subscription service.

For $24.99 a month, turntable owners can subscribe to Amazon’s Vinyl of the Month Club to receive records from the “golden era of vinyl” delivered straight to their door. Much like Amazon Prime, shipping will be free; however, subscribers do not need to be Prime members.

So far, Amazon’s Vinyl Of The Month Club has dispersed copies of Pink Floyd’s The Wall and The Clash’s London Calling. For those who may be on the fence about dedicating nearly $25 a month to the subscription service, it’s worth noting that The Wall typically sells for nearly $50 while London Calling retails for more than $30.

Subscribers can expect to receive copies of albums from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Miles Davis, Abba, and more. So long as the record’s are kept in their original packaging and remain unused, fans can send back what they don’t like—at no cost. Subscribe to the Vinyl of the Month Club here.
