Carl Cox rings in his first release of 2021 with a new energetic techno remix of BreakCode and Jon Rundell‘s “What Lies Beneath.” BreakCode, a live electronic act launched in 2019 with the aforementioned track, has been supported by Cox, whose prolific worldwide status now finds backing behind the collaboration. Cox states,
“BreakCode is making some seriously mental music, creating it more like a band would instead of a DJ. I supported it all last year since its inception and it was amazing to put my own take on such a great idea for a different track that seriously stands out amongst the rest.”
Cox’s “What Lies Beneath” remix deposits the raw club and warehouse energy of the late 90s’ into its feature carousel of staggering melodies, fierce basslines, and assault of up-tempo drums and percussion. Both Cox and Jon Rundell have frequently collaborated throughout recent years, exchanging multiple remixes and convening for a collection of Pure Intect label mix compilations on Intect Digital.
